This Privacy Policy defines how the ZG Priroda mobile application developed by the Maksimir Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of the City of Zagreb (Maksimir Public Institution for short) is used.

The ZG Priroda application helps users learn about the protected areas and nature in the City of Zagreb and supports their participation in the research and conservation of nature in the City of Zagreb. The application helps visitors to protected areas walk around the protected areas and explore the entire nature of the City of Zagreb.

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

 

The Maksimir Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of the City of Zagreb is the holder of the exclusive right to use the application. The application is made available to the public free of charge in accordance with the stated purpose.

The trademarks in the application are protected under the legislation in force in the Republic of Croatia and under international agreements. It is not permitted to remove or modify the featured names, logos or trademarks, or to use the legends, symbols or markings featured in the application.

It is not permitted to reproduce, distribute, or modify the application, or make the application available to the public, unless done so by the Maksimir Public Institution.

 

LIABILITY DISCLAIMER

 

The Maksimir Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of the City of Zagreb shall not be liable for potential direct or indirect damage caused by the use of this mobile application or in case of slow or difficult data transfer due to different network operator capabilities or inconsistencies due to the user’s operating system or network capabilities.

 

PERSONAL DATA

 

The Maksimir Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of the City of Zagreb shall handle your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679/EC (GDPR) and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Official Gazette, No. 42/18) through the application of appropriate technical and security measures in order to protect personal data from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, loss or destruction.

Use of the application involves the processing of personal data: name, last name, age (this data is non-mandatory) and e-mail address (the data is mandatory for the use of the application). Mobile device location data is also collected when the application is used. By entering the specified personal data and downloading the application, you consent to their processing for the purpose of using the application and improving its functionality.

We will not disclose or provide your personal data to third parties except in cases expressly laid down by law.

 

By installing the application, the user agrees to the terms specified in this Privacy Policy and gives express consent to Maksimir Public Institution to collect and process their personal data for the stated purpose.

Permission from a parent or guardian is required for persons 16 years old or younger to use the application. Users shall not provide personal data without this permission or consent.

Personal data processed in the application are stored throughout the duration of the use and for one year after the use of the application has been terminated.

Users whose personal data are processed have the right to access their personal data, the right to rectify data if it is incorrect, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability and the right to object. The data protection supervisory authority is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, Selska cesta 136, Zagreb.

 

USE OF OTHER DATA

 

For the application to operate at full scale, it needs access to the mobile device cameras. The access to the camera is used for taking photos, scanning QR codes and identifying points of interest. The application does not download previously stored private content located on the mobile devices.

 

If you want to disable the application from accessing the camera and location data on your mobile device, only the segments of the application that do not use photos and locations will function properly. You can remove the application from your mobile device using the regular application removal methods of your operating system.

 

All data collected on a user’s private mobile device are stored exclusively on the device. The Maksimir Public Institution shall not be responsible for the security of data storage on the user’s mobile device.

The Maksimir Public Institution shall reserve the right to modify the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy and the user shall be promptly informed of any modifications.
